Picha Wins At Kenya Theatre Awards 2025
I am deeply honoured to share that my stage play Picha recently earned two prestigious Kenya Theatre Awards in 2025: Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role and Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role. I was also nominated for Best Playwright – Original Script, recognition that continues to strengthen my commitment to creating and promoting stories that resonate deeply with audiences.

Picha-the play
Kanini is a mother who has created, in her mind, an image of a descent and respectable family to an extent that she has turned a blind eye to the abuse of her husband towards herself and her children. Her image is shuttered when a photo with a deep secret is discovered. The secret can no longer be hidden. The conflict between the two images forces her to face the truth but the truth is painful.
